My biggest issue though, apart from the noise level, is the fact that all your clothes will soak up the smell of food that's being prepared. Showing up for a morning meeting smelling like last nights dinner is frankly, embarrassing.

Another fail was that after a long drive from St John's, I tried to take an afternoon snooze. The fire alarm in the house quickly put an end to that. It sounded multiple times due to the heat rising from their kitchen, and whatever was cooking in the oven all afternoon.

I've been staying at the Inn every year for the past 10 years while on business in the region, and this will most likely be the last time I stay here. On this latest business trip to Grand Falls, to my surprise, they've opened up a coffee shop/bistro just off the main living/dining room area. Nice idea right? The idea is great, the execution, not so much.

Very disappointing for the $160 price point.

Wonderful b&b with great breakfast and coffee/ tea/ hot chocolate anytime. Lovely loft area for quiet reading with skylights.

My advice, either make this a B&B or make it a bistro. The two don't match and it's clear there is no direction and a general lack of experience. If you are going to cook food, invest in an industrial kitchen exhaust hood. That's just common sense.

Like another reviewer mentioned, you have many business travellers looking for a quiet place to relax. This used to be it, not anymore. Patrons coming and going until late in the evening. The smell of dinner (which I think was roast chicken) littered the entire house. I did try their lunch menu when I arrived and it was pretty good. The one positive I guess. However, it would have been nice to know that you have to go to the counter to order and pay in advance. The locals know this. I just sat there for 10+ minutes thinking someone will come and ask if they can help. Very disorganized.

And pay special attention to guests who are spending $$ for quiet stay and experience.

Rooms have a very rustic feel which I love. You're always greeted with a warm smile and friendly people. I've stayed here many times and I'm always pleased with it.

Beautiful house, with many different rooms to choose from (different bed arrangements, some with ensuites etc.). All rooms (seem to) have flat screen TVs with a DVD player, with many DVDs available to borrow. Lots of open sitting areas with a plethora of novels to read. Lovely staff, and easy to talk to manager who was very helpful with directions and little tidbits of Newfoundland in general. They are opening a bistro downstairs which has great promise. T
